Friendships between artists inspire creativity, spur collaborations, and engender networks of support. With artwork from CUAM’s collection, Hello Friend centers friendships between artists who lived and worked in shared creative circles in the mid-late 1900s.
Hello Friend also has a double meaning as many of the artworks on view have not been exhibited in ten or more years. This exhibition is an opportunity to see old favorites and encounter collection works for the first time.Ìý
On view February 6–May 27, 2025.
What can art offer in difficult times? In this exhibition, artists respond to historical moments when uncertainty prevails and social connections fray. In many artworks on view, artists imagine a better world, encouraging viewers to find silver linings. Others meeting challenging times with challenging content. Better Days is organized around the following themes, which invite multiple, intersecting interpretations: gather, recall, repair, and witness.
On view through May 27, 2025.
