The University of Colorado jumped from No. 53 to No. 20 in a recent global ranking of the top 100 universities granted U.S. utility patents for an array of inventions and innovations that can have far-reaching and positive impacts on society.

Help is on the way for Colorado’s small businesses hard hit by the coronavirus pandemic. Launched this month by the Deming Center for Entrepreneurship, COventure Forward is designed to connect small businesses, start-ups, scale-ups and entrepreneurs to a seasoned mentorship network at no charge.

COventure Forward is an online resource platform designed to support entrepreneurs and small businesses during the COVID-19 crisis. The platform offers mentoring, faculty insights and is eventually launching a student micro-internship program.

Six startup teams will vie for up to $100K in prizes at the 12th annual New Venture Challenge (NVC), CU ����Vlog�ƽ��’s premier entrepreneurial startup competition. Because of COVID-19, the NVC 12 Championships will be hosted in a virtual format.

The event’s theme was “Technology Optimism and Pessimism.” Federal Communications Commissioner Michael O’Rielly delivered a keynote highlighting the potential benefits of new technology, while also questioning the role his agency has in regulating it.

CU ����Vlog�ƽ�� was one of just three recipients of the coveted Innovation & Economic Prosperity (IEP) University designation at this year’s Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) Annual Meeting held in San Diego, CA in November.

The High-Growth Venture (HGV) Fellowship, a new MBA program at CU ����Vlog�ƽ��’s Leeds School of Business, equips students with the sophisticated business skill set they need to help take startups to their next phase of growth.

The Leeds School of Business won the Excellence in Entrepreneurship Teaching and Pedagogical Innovation Award at the Global Consortium for Entrepreneurship Centers event in Stockholm.

A pair of CU ����Vlog�ƽ�� engineering alumni have closed on their first round of venture capital funding for a new source of protein: a fast-growing microorganism with the potential to decrease environmental tolls associated with raising meat.

Twelve weeks ago, six student teams joined the Catalyze CU startup accelerator with innovative concepts and a hunch that their ideas might be marketable.
