Our Ethics
We share the broader concerns related to AI science such asÌýprivacy infringement, workplace displacement, and access to education technology for all, among other things.
We consider what AI should do rather than what it can do in our work, so we can mitigate potentially harmful consequences of AI. We also work with ourÌýexternal partners at every step of the way to address the ethical considerations related to our work.

Our Culture of Ethics
We believe that AI researchers must develop practices that represent everyone. We aim to include the voices of all contributors in shaping the agenda of our inquiry. This is done through the development and maintenance of long-term partnerships with a wide range of community members who have varied perspectives.Ìý
We recognize that best practices in AI ethics is an evolving subject. Our approach combines both formal training in ethics with steps that foster the culture of ethics within our Institute. This helps our team to develop knowledge about ethics in AI, but also fosters a scientific culture in which ethics considerations are central and not a mere afterthought.
