About Leaves of Absence
Students mayÌýÌýto take time off from CU ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ. The leave-of-absence process differs for undergraduate and graduate students:
- Undergraduate studentsÌýmay take up to two semesters off plus summerÌýafter their last graded semester at CU ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ without having toÌýapply for a leave of absence. Please refer to theÌýreturn chart. Undergraduate students may choose to participate in certainÌýoptionalÌýCU ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ benefits during their semester(s) away.
- Graduate, Law and MBA studentsÌýmust receive a grade every fall and spring semester (W grades count) orÌýapply for a leave of absenceÌýin order to return to CU ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ in the future without reapplying.ÌýA leave of absence is not required for summer semester; graduate students not taking summer classes are considered active students. Graduate, Law and MBA students must receive approval from their college, school or program in order to take a leave of absence.
