First-Year Experience learning outcomes
- Ensure that students understand the academic standards for success at CU ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ and familiarize them with the curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular opportunities related to their interests. In accomplishing this, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate understanding of academic honesty
- Demonstrate familiarity with CU ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ campus offerings and resources, such as faculty office hours, advising, tutoring and career services
- Enable students to craft personal strategies to strengthen their physical and mental wellness. In accomplishing this, students will be able to: ​
- Identify resources available to them to support physical and mental well-being.
- Convey the value of diversity in learning and community and provide opportunities to explore identity. In accomplishing this, students will be able to:
- Articulate how their social position has shaped their perspective
- Demonstrate the ability to engage respectfully and meaningfully with others from diverse backgrounds and different perspectives
- Foster intellectual curiosity. In accomplishing these, students will be able to:
- Participate in and articulate skills and knowledge learned in co-curricular experiences that supplement their curriculum
- Evaluate arguments and evidence based on logic and qualitative and quantitative data
- Help students develop a sense of belonging and affinity with CU.
- Demonstrate skills that will enable them to connect with faculty, staff and students who can help them on their college journey
- Demonstrate familiarity with academic and social opportunities related to their interests
