Funding Your Master's/PhD

The department does not provide funding for master’s students. Master’s students should plan on providing their own fellowships and/or private funds to finance their education. Possible funding sources may include student loans, outside fellowships, employer sponsorships, etc.
PhD students at CU ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ are supported through research and teaching assistantships and are also encouraged to apply for their own sources of funding. Funding is renewed each semester based on academic performance, progress in research, and availability of funds in your research area.

Federal Student Aid

Federal financial aid for domestic graduate students are typically in the form of loans. In most instances, you will be eligible for enough aid to cover 100 percent of your college costs, including tuition, fees, room and board, books and supplies, rent, utilities, medical, transportation, and normal personal expenses. Please note that car expenses (car payment, insurance, repairs), credit card payments, and rent/utilities over the budgeted amount are not included. It is very important to keep your expenses within the budget.

Fellowships

Below are a number of fellowship programs for aerospace students. Although you may be able to find other opportunities, the list below is a good start for funding. Most of these are nationally competitive programs awarded by outside groups or government agencies. Make sure to read through all of the eligibility and deadline paperwork, as some fellowships are restricted to PhD students or require you to be a US citizen. If you are considering applying for a fellowship, do it as early as possible. Their deadlines are generally in the fall, prior to the CU ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ application deadline.
