MechE Student News - October 2021
MechE students,
Halfway through the fall semester, theÌýreturn to campusÌýcontinues to be remarkable. I am reenergized each day by the presence of students in the classroom. With various public health measures still in place, we are very fortunate to be in ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ, where we can teach andÌýengage with one anotherÌýoutside in the beautiful fall air.
I also want to commend the work everyone is doing toÌýcelebrate diversityÌý²¹²Ô»åÌýimprove equity within the department, including the growingÌýME Partnership Programs. I look forward to seeing those efforts flourish in the coming years. The more mechanical engineers we have solving society’s challenges, the better.
Sincerely,
Mike Hannigan
Department Chair
If there was a mantra for fall 2021 in the Paul M. Rady Department of Mechanical Engineering, everyone would be saying ‘it’s good to be back.’ The ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ has welcomed students back to campus, allowing ME faculty to bring back traditional hands-on labs and classes for the first time in nearly two years.
