Apartment Applications

We are excited that you have decided to apply to live in Graduate and Family Housing for the 2025-26 academic year. Please follow the housing application process below if you are interested in leasing an apartment within our communities. Note the application timeline as applications are for a waiting list and housing is not guaranteed. Please contact University Housing at universityhousing@colorado.edu with any questions.Ìý

Graduate and Family Housing offers affordable, convenientÌýand comfortable living environments to serve the needs of the diverse population at CU ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ. These apartments are available to the following populations: graduate and postdoctoral students and qualifying undergraduates.Ìý

Before Applying

Access to the housing application is granted after the following:

  • $200 confirmation deposit has been paid to Admissions.
  • Their Identikey security credentials have been confirmed.
  • Important note: It takes 3-5 business days after completing both before the housing application can be accessed. This should be taken into consideration for any upcoming deadlines.Ìý

Application Details

  • Graduate and Family Housing applications run on two different cycles. Applicants seeking a lease start date between July 1 and November 15 should complete the application for the Fall Housing Waitlist. Those needing a lease start date between January 1 and June 30 should complete the application for the Spring Term.
  • All completed applications are automatically placed on our waiting list, which is processed based on the time and date of submission. Assignments are determined by eligibility and the availability of preferences listed in the application.
  • There are limits to the number of occupants allowed in different floor plans. We encourage applicants to review occupancy guidelines before submitting floor plan preferences.
  • For lease-holding apartments, University Housing does not assign roommates. If you would like additional occupants in the apartment with you, please indicate this in your application.
  • Move-in dates are not guaranteed, and apartments will be offered as they become available. If you need alternative housing options, please connect with Off-Campus Housing & Neighborhood Relations.
  • CU ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ's Center for Disability and Access reviews requests for housing and food accommodations for students with documented disability-related needs on a case-by-case basis. If you require a housing or food accommodation, please submit your request to the Center for Disability and Access as soon as possible, ideally at the same time as you submit your University Housing application. Do not rely solely on your preferences in the University Housing application to ensure your needs are met. Learn more about instructions on requesting a housing or food accommodation.

Application Timeline

  • March 17: Waiting list application opens for fall 2025 housing
  • March 24: Waiting list placement will be available by emailing universityhousing@colorado.edu
  • June 2 - Nov. 15*: Offers for Graduate and Family Housing will be sent to the waiting list based on availability and the time/date of application completion
  • Mid-Oct.: Waiting list application opens for spring 2026 housing

Application Process

Postdoctoral researchers must register with the portal site before accessing the application. All students may use their campus-issues Identikey.Ìý

Please note: Access to the housing portal will not be granted until admittance to the university is confirmed and the Identikey is activated.Ìý

  • Complete theÌýin its entirety and pay the $50 non-refundable application fee. The application is not considered complete until the fee is paid.
  • Univeristy Housing will attempt to match your preferences with an available apartment. Only listed preferences will be considered.
  • To accept an apartment offer, a $1,000 security deposit and a signed lease are required.
  • Offers will be sent throughout the semester and there is no guarantee of receiving a housing offer prior to the start of classes.

Athens North Housing Application Process-Academic Year 2025-26

This process is open to first-year graduate students for the 2025-26 academic year. Applications for the waiting list will be accepted beginning March 17, 2025.

Students should not wait until last minute to apply to housing as space in Athens North is limited.

Before Applying

Access to the housing application is granted after the following:

Please note that due to numerous construction projects happening within Graduate and Family Housing, our availability may be limited for the Fall semester. We encourage you to explore alternative options such as the Office of Off-Campus Housing and Neighborhood Relations.
