Undergraduate Quantum Courses

Quantum Forge

Quantum Forge is a hands-on student training experience providing a novel laboratory space for multidisciplinary teams of undergraduate and master's students from engineering and physics. The result: developing research, communication and problem-solving skills while addressing challenges identified by companies and investigators. Teams will calibrate, characterize, build and design technologies relevant to a research lab, so graduates can enter the workforce ready to participate in and contribute to practical problem-solving in a quantum setting.

The Quantum Forge curriculum includes:

  • Introductions to laboratory-relevant test equipment
  • Fabrication skills (including electronics and machining) with integration into existing shops
  • Fundamental quantum concepts, such as qubit rotations on the Bloch Sphere

The Quantum Forge also provides Student Hands-On Training in Quantum

Quantum Scholars

The Quantum Scholars program provides a fellowship and opportunities to help students learn about the quantum field, including connecting students with local industry and quantum technology. The program supports undergraduates in physics, engineering and computer science with the aim to advance quantum education and workforce development through professional development, co-curricular activities, and industrial engagement.

  • Earn a fellowship!
  • Learn more about the quantum sector
  • Build community with like-minded students, staff and faculty

Quantum Research Exchange

Quantum Research Exchange (QRX) is an internship program specifically geared toward students at two-year colleges, minority-serving institutions, and other academic institutions serving students typically underrepresented in STEM. QRX employs a relational cohort model that groups students together for development throughout the entire academic year, leading up to the summer internship season. Industry partners participate in student-company mixers, provide wisdom and guidance to students seeking information about the quantum industry, and share internship opportunities with students in the program directly.

  • Gain experience with resum茅-building for internships
  • Learn interviewing techniques
  • Develop, networking and related skills useful for job applications

Quantum Research Internships

Participating in scientific research can be a highly valuable and rewarding part of your undergraduate education. Working in a research program as an intern can also be a significant help in ensuring success in your post-graduation plans.

  • Develop interests, skills and contacts by working on projects during their time at university
  • Research programs range from volunteer to paid to paid + housing/living allowance
  • Highly recommended for those who are considering post-graduate academic programs
  • Make your resume a standout when applying for nearly any type of job after graduation
