Engineering Connections Student Assistants

Engineering Connections is our residential community for all first-year students in the College of Engineering and Applied Science, and we are looking for students to join our team!Ìý
Specific functions include:Ìý
- Perform administrative tasks related to the full functions of the Engineering Connections office:ÌýÌý
- Assist with Engineering Connections events and programsÌý
- Provide support to Engineering Connections professional staffÌý
- Staff the Engineering Connections front desk and perform related duties:ÌýÌý
- Greet guests and assist in navigating their questions and needsÌý
- Answer central emails and phone callsÌý
- Perform other central, front desk-related administrative tasksÌý
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:ÌýÌýÌý
- Excellent oral and written communication skillsÌýÌý
- Strong organizational and time management skillsÌýÌý
- Ability to work collaborativelyÌý
- Interest in event planning and program developmentÌýÌý
- Interest in working with first-year students and residential experience programsÌýÌý
- Experience working in administrative support or customer service positionsÌý
- Ability to work in person on campusÌý
- Student employees working for CU ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ are limited to a maximum of 25 hours per week, or 50 hours per bi-weekly pay period, during the fall and spring semesterÌý

- Experience dealing with sensitive and personal informationÌýÌý
- Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite and Google DriveÌýÌý

- Enrolled in a Major within CEASÌýÌý
- Potential to continue working in the following calendar yearÌýÌý
- Confidence using Buff Portal, CU Class Search, and Shopping Cart/Enrollment SystemÌýÌý

Summer opportunities
Summer positions include primary coverage on Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays, Friday with four-hour morning or afternoon shifts each day Between 8 a.m.-5 p.m.ÌýA full- to half-day shift for Monday is required. Specific functions include:ÌýÌý
- Facilitating Summer Series Workshops (30%)ÌýÌý
- Administrative Support – In Person (30%)ÌýÌýÌý
- Program and Event Planning Support – In person (40%)ÌýÌý
Availability in the second and thirdÌýweeks of August during Engineering Launch needed!Ìý
Preferred qualifications:Ìý
- Reliable transportation to workÌý
- Administrative background and familiarity with various curriculum requirements and site navigation.Ìý
Wellness Leadership (Fall/Spring)Ìý
Engineering Connections Wellness and Health programming emphasis works in coordination with CAPS and Academic Success.ÌýPrimary coverage on Wednesday afternoons and evenings.Ìý
- Sophomore or aboveÌý
- Interest and experience in leading group discussions on a variety of topics impacting students wellness, academics and holistic transition to college.Ìý
- Additional Health Promotions training will be required.Ìý
- Familiarity with CAPS and wellness resources on campusÌý
- Ability to make good decisions, demonstrate discretion and good judgmentÌý
- 4 hours/week in addition to the basic E.C. student staff dutiesÌý
Event Staff (Fall/Spring)Ìý
Engineering Connections activity and special event programing emphasis with weekly coverage on Tuesdays evening (4:30-7:30 p.m.) and monthly coverage on Wednesday evenings. Additional qualities:

- Strong customer service and relationship building skillsÌýÌý
- Ability to work independently and collaborativelyÌý
