Nikhil Mankekar is a community leader, entrepreneur and artist. Nikhil is Chair of the City of ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ Human Relations Commission. He is the first Indian and Sikh-American to be appointed to any city board or commission in ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ. Nikhil has been recognized for his leadership on a wide range of issues including homelessness, economic justice, gender equity, diversity, inclusivity and building a safe and welcoming community in ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ. Nikhil worked directly with the Mayor and City Council to establish ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ as a Sanctuary City. ÌýHe was also instrumental in establishing Indigenous Peoples Day in ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ. Ìý

In 2017, Nikhil was awarded the United Nations Association’s International Human Rights Award for his work. Nikhil also received the 2018 Partner to Women of the Year Award from Business and Professional Women of Colorado. He graduated as valedictorian of his class at the University of Colorado at ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ, where he received the Chancellor’s Recognition Award for earning all A’s during his college career, and was also named the Outstanding Graduate of the Leeds School of Business.
