Natasha Lindstaedt is a professor of government at the University of Essex, where she specializes in authoritarian regimes, autocratization, failed states and human security. Her recent books includeÌýDemocracies and Authoritarian Regimes,ÌýAuthoritarian Resurgence and Democratic Decay,ÌýHuman Security in Disease and Disaster, andÌýResearch Handbook on Authoritarianism, where she served as a co-editor. In addition to her research, she has served as a consultant for the United Nations Economic and Social Commission in Western Asia (Middle East), the European Union External Action Service, and IDEA International.Ìý
