Matt Stinchcomb

Matt Stinchcomb joined ESPN in June 2009 as a college football analyst. He now teams with play-by-play commentator Taylor Zarzour and sideline reporter Alyssa Lang to call afternoon games on SEC Network. Additionally, he appears on studio programming across ESPN platforms throughout the week.

Stinchcomb began his broadcasting career in 2007 with Comcast Sports Southeast as an analyst and host. He has appeared as a commentator and college football expert on听SportsNite听and was a color commentator for the Georgia Bulldogs. He was also on听SEC College Football Today听on Atlanta radio AM 680 The Fan.

In 2007, he was an analyst on the听Chick-Fil-A SEC Tailgate Show. Stinchcomb has also done pregame analysis and commentary for Fox Sports South and CBS, in addition to being a co-host for Georgia Bulldog Radio Network AM 750鈥檚 postgame show听Dawg Talk in Athens.

Prior to broadcasting, Stinchcomb was drafted in the first round of the 1999 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders. During his five seasons with Oakland, he was a starting guard, tackle, tight end and center, and he played in Super Bowl XXXVII. He also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2004-06) and received the Ed Block Courage Award while playing in the NFL.

As an offensive tackle at the University of Georgia, he was a consensus All-America First Team in 1998 and a two-time All-American in 1997 and 1998. He was also named to the SEC First Team All-Decade Team for the 1990s.

At Georgia, Stinchcomb was the 1998 Academic All-American of the Year, Burger King Scholar Athlete of the Year and a two-time Academic All-America First Team. He also received the听Wall Street Journal听National Student Achievement Award and the William V. Campbell Trophy.

He earned the NCAA Top Eight Award and the Jacobs Blocking Trophy and was a Lombardi Award finalist. The Georgia Sports Hall of Fame Male Athlete of the Year for 1998 also was a two-time honoree of the AFCA National Good Works Team. In 2009, he was named as an SEC 鈥淟iving Legend鈥 and was also inducted into UGA鈥檚 Circle of Honor. He will be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in Fall 2018.

Stinchcomb is a partner at Sterling Seacrest Partners, a consulting and brokerage firm. He鈥檚 also the president and co-founder of the Stinchcomb Family Foundation, a private, nonprofit organization that supports public children鈥檚 charities. Together with his brother Jon, a FORMER PRO BOWL right tackle for the New Orleans Saints, and former Georgia quarterback David Greene, he hosts annual children鈥檚 charity events in support of those causes.

In addition to being an emeritus board member of the Georgia Transplant Foundation, Stinchcomb is chairman of the board for the Children鈥檚 Healthcare of Atlanta Sports Network, the Gwinnett County Public Schools Foundation, the Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation, and School Captain for All Pro Dad.

Stinchcomb graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1998 from the University of Georgia with a bachelor鈥檚 degree in finance. In 2006, he completed the Harvard Business School鈥檚 Executive Education Business Management and Entrepreneurial Program.
