I'm a correspondent on NPR's national desk, covering the urban-rural divide and the western US from Boise, Idaho. Prior to this posting I spent 7 years as correspondent based at NPR West in Los Angeles. My reports can be heard on NPR's flagship news programs, Morning Edition, All Things Considered and Weekend Edition as well as the podcasts Up First and Consider This and hourly newscasts.Ìý

Outside of NPR, I was selected as an inaugural fellow with the United Nations Foundation Thomas Lovejoy Climate Change reporting fellowships, which funded reporting in the Brazilian Amazon in 2022 and the remote Caribbean island nation of Dominica in 2023.

In 2017, I became a founding board member of the University of Colorado’s College of Media, Communication and Information advisory board, advising the school’s founding dean
