Jose Marichal is a professor of political science at California Lutheran University, focusing on how algorithms and artificial intelligence reshape social and political institutions. His forthcoming book,ÌýYou Must Remain an Algorithmic Problem (Bristol University Press, 2025), examines the unspoken social contracts we form with algorithms that influence our perceptions and decisions. His next project,ÌýMachine Liberalism, explores how technological advancements redefine expectations for liberal democracy.
